Inspired by Place

The Allen House on Allen Island, Port Clyde, Maine, was our favorite house on the island during our time as caretakers of the island in the 1990s. This cozy, unpretentious house, built in the mid-1700s, embodies a simpler way of life, deeply connected to the rhythm of  nature, self-sufficiency and community.

Upon entering, one feels transported to an 18th-century world, where all necessities came from local, trusted sources, working together to harvest the bounties of nature. Like this way of life, on Allen Island all of life’s essentials were at our doorstep. We knew the origins of everything we consumed, the care that went into our gardens, and the sustainable practices that supported our community.

This is the way life should be—and House of Allen seeks to bring the essence of this way of life to you, ensuring that every product reflects the values we all cherish.
